Replica Chanel Old Medium Quilted Le Boy: Black Lambskin with Ruthenium Hardware

This is the classic design that made me fall in love completely with the Chanel Le Boy but unfortunately I simply do not have the money to afford to real deal, as much as I would love to! For this reason, I went searching for a good quality replica and I really think I hit the jackpot. This is a beautiful alternative to the Chanel Old Medium Quilted Le Boy bag in black lambskin with ruthenium hardware.

 When I went looking I knew I wanted a few things: real leather, as close to the real deal as possible and good quality construction. I really didn't care much about the packaging it came in or the quality of the box replica so this was a perfect fit because it just came in a standard dust bag with "Chanel" printed on it rather poorly. I found it on AliExpress and after a while conversing with the seller and getting them to send me extra photos, I took the plunge! It still ended up costing me $138 USD/$190 AUD so it still made me a little nervous to buy on AliExpress. I needn't have worried though, because the seller was amazing and the bag came even quicker than I thought it would, arriving in time for my birthday! The seller I purchased from operates on WeChat under the ID yyyoyoyu and I would recommend them wholeheartedly!
Now for the quality! I was not disappointed and as soon as I had a sniff of this I knew it was real leather. The construction was exceptional and all the details were spot on. The leather is exceptionally soft and has a beautiful finish. The quilting is all very well stitched, without any visible flaws or skips. The ruthenium hardware is pretty gorgeous and is definitely my favourite things about this style because it gives it a rock chick kinda vibe.

The sides and base of the bag are pretty well constructed and while they do bow a little, I think I prefer that to an overly rigid bag. You will definitely want to keep it stuffed when you aren't using it though otherwise I could see it collapsing quite quickly, but the same can be said for any bag really.

The hardware is excellent on this bag and has a decent weight to it which makes it feel high quality but not uncomfortable. The brushed ruthenium finish is pretty spot on when comparing to photos of the real Chanel bags so I could not be happier with it. The clasp is solid and I absolutely love the clip shut, squeeze open closure which is really easy and quick to get in and out of.
Like I said before, the chain is really good quality as well with the same excellent ruthenium finish. The leather top is a favourite part of mine too because it means my hair doesn't get tangled in the chain. 

As for the interior, it is lined with a high quality silky fabric in a darker grey shade. It only has one pocket at the back which is totally perfect for holding a phone (my iPhone 6 for scale). The "Chanel Made in Italy" looks good and it even has the authentication number tab. 


My bag also came with a fairly poorly made little booklet with some of the history of Chanel which really isn't fooling anyone. It does have some care instructions in it though so I guess that is useful. It does come with Chanel authentication card but the printing of it is quite off. That doesn't bother me at all though because I'm not trying to fool anyone with this. I'm happy to admit it is fake; I just wanted a taste of this beautiful design that didn't cost 2 months of my wages.
I have been using this quite a bit since I bought it two months ago and it is only showing minor signs of wear. I have noticed that the leather is very soft and marks up very easily. The outside still looks great, with only some creases and scratches on the base. The most significant marks are on the interior though. I know they are mostly my fault from my nails and rings scratching the leather as I get in and out of the bag. I also recently realised that my little zip pouch wallet is too tall for this bag and that the zip has probably been rubbing a little bit. All in all though, I'm really happy with this bag and still just as in love with it when it was brand new.

 So there you have my full review. It is pretty safe to say that I totally adore this bag and think it is well worth the money. The construction is excellent and the leather is really great, even if it does mark easily but, then again, so does the real Chanel lambskin from what I have heard.
